 waylan elijah brody, born on december 11, 1990 in powder springs, georgia and raised there for the majority of his life. he moved to longport, new jersey with his father right before high school because of his parent's divorce. his parents still get along, but his father wanted to move back to his hometown of longport. waylan makes a trip back to georgia whenever he can and he still has a very close relationship with his mother, as well as his father.

 he's always been a pretty good student but the drastic move to the north from the south was definitely different, and definitely had an effect on his schooling. in the south, everyone talks slowly and says things like ya'll, always fixin' ta do things but in new jersey, that is definitely not the case. he didn't totally adjust to the sort of... jump in the curriculum at first when he changed schools but he eventually got the hang of everything and graduated high school last may.

 waylan sort of fell in with the wrong crowd in high school, drugs sort of getting a hold on him early but he'd never blame his abuse on his friends or anything. he's a pretty headstrong boy with his own opinions and he takes full responsibility for his actions. waylan also really doesn't care what people think, it's neither a downfall or a strong point, but it's a part of his personality regardless.

 though waylan sometimes can't help himself when it comes to alcohol or drugs, he's trying to cut down and straighten his life out. he's in no way addicted to anything, he can go for days without a drop of alcohol or drugs in his system. he's more or less trying to straighten his life out considering some bad choices he made in high school sort of got him off of that path. his dad kicked him out when he was sixteen, but really it was for his own good. every bit of money his father gave him as allowance or because waylan asked for it was spent on monthly and sometimes weekly binges or just plain partying if he couldn't hold it together to save up for that long.

 waylan has never held it against his father for kicking him out because he knows he deserved it, and that it was for the best in the long run. his father helped him out whenever waylan came calling though, and he was never on the streets. thankfully, he smartened up and used the leftover money he had to get a hotel for a week or two until he could straighten himself out and get back to school every day. he never moved back in with his father, instead getting an apartment by himself that his dad helped with until he got on his own two feet with his hair styling gig. ;) I'M TIRED AGAIN BRB LMAO
